Stephen Ministry
Stephen Ministry is grounded in Jesus' command to love on another. Through one-to-one caring and relationships, those who are hurting receive loving support through individuals specially trained to become Stephen Minister leaders.
A Stephen Minister is a child of God who walks beside a hurting person as a caring Christian friend who listens.
Stephen Leaders are persons trained at a seven-day Leader's Training Course who are commissioned by their enrolled congregation to implement the Stephen Series on behalf of the congregation.
More than 90 denominations use Stephen Ministries. Methodists, Presbyterians, Lutherans, Episcopalians, Roman Catholics, Baptists, Assemblies of God, Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), Churches of God, Nazarenes, Reformed, United Church of Christ, and Salvation Army.
