Thanks to God!
Celebrating 150 Years of Ministry at United Lutheran Church
As the story is told, “It all began when eight Norwegian families in 1858, having the use of the Swedish church, called Rev. Lauritz Larsen from just across the Mississippi River to come and preach to them.”
From these small beginnings, United Lutheran Church has grown into a congregation of over 2,400 members. There is so much to be thankful about! God is faithful and has blessed with a wonderful, exciting ministry!
In those early days, the Norwegian immigrants would have said Takk Herre Gud…Thanks to God! In these days we celebrate the diversity that is around us. You can hear the expression of thanks in many languages in Red Wing, such as….
Gracias al Dios….
Danka des Gottes….
In whatever language is spoken, we give thanks to God for all that God has done and continues to do for us through God’s Son Jesus Christ. We give thanks to God for this ministry called United Lutheran Church.
I am very excited about our upcoming celebration! The celebration begins on Rally Day, September 7. Please check the link for the events being planned and come, celebrate with us! Come, give Thanks to God!
